George William BOWMAN and Mary PAGETT
George William BOWMAN (1805-1846), son of William BOWMAN and Mary Ann MASTERS was born on 21 December 1805 in Southwark, Surrey, England and was baptised on 12 February 1806 at St George the Martyr, Surrey, England. He was a Tailor or Clothier.
Mary PAGETT (c.1798-1864), daughter of James PAGETT and Elizabeth COOPER, was baptised on 16 Sep 1798 in Kingswinford, Staffordshire, England.
In about 1822, Mary gave birth to an illegitimate daughter, Mary Anne Robinson Pagett, in Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Staffordshire.
On 26 March 1829 Mary a spinster and George a bachelor, were married in Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, England.
On 6 June 1841, Mary aged 35 and George aged 40, were living in Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Staffordshire. George was working as a Tailor. Living with them were their children Joseph 11, Lucy 10, Mary 8, George W 6, Thomas 5, and Charles 2. Also living with them was Mary's daughter, Mary Anne Pagett, aged 20.
George died, aged 44, of Erysipelas (eruptive fever) of the head and face on 20 January 1846 in Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Staffordshire. The informant was his wife Mary.
On 30 March 1851, Mary a widow aged 53, was now living at 15 High Street, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. She was a Green Grocer. Living with her were her children, Lucy 20, Joseph 18, Mary 16, George 14, Thomas 12 and Charles 10.
On 7 April 1861, Mary now aged 64 was still living in High St, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Worcestershire. Living with her were three of her sons, Joseph 30, George W 25 and Charles 19. They were all working in the iron industry. Joseph and Charles being Mill Men and George a Forgeman.
Mary died, aged 66, of Bronchitis on 28 February 1864 in Moor Lane Brierley Hill, Staffordshire. The informant was Thomas Bowman of Chapel St, Brierley Hill.
On 6 October 1864 the Will of Mary BOWMAN, a widow, late of the "Britannia" Inn, Fenton-st, Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Staffordshire was proved. Effects under £100. She left her three daughters, her household furniture and wearing apparel to share and share alike with the exception of her Mahogany Beadsteads and Bed and Mahogany Pier Glass and Card Table which she left to her son, George William Bowman. Also to George she left the Bed and Bedsteads that he was lying upon and a Mahogany Table with pillars and four claws. To her four sons, Joseph, George William, Thomas and Charles she left to share and share alike the public business at the 'Britannia Inn, Fenton St, which included the goodwill, fixtures, stock and brewing utensils. Mary Anne was born about 1822 and baptised on 18 May 1823 in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, England. Her father is not known, but his name may have been Robinson. Mary Anne married Richard Tetsill in 1848. Children: Zephaniah (male) 1849; Christiana 1850; Lucy 1852; Ellenezer 1854-1937; Clara 1860; Mary 1861; Elizabeth 1862; Cornelius 1864; Sarah Ann 1867-71. Mary Anne died, aged 59 in 1880.

Their children were: Charles W 1858; Eliza A 1860; Alice Mary 1861; Emily 1863; Frederick John 1868-1878. The family emigrated to New York, USA arriving 22 Jun 1868 aboard the ship 'City of Paris'. They settled in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. Lucy died, aged 53, of paralysis, in Youngstown on 25 Sep 1884.
3. Mary Masters BOWMAN (c.1832-1894)
Mary was baptised on 24 Feb 1833 in Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Staffordshire. She married Issac HUNT in 1858 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire. Their children were: Joseph 1860; Issac 1862; Mary Ann 1864; William E 1866; Herbert 1871. Mary died, aged 61, in Stourbridge on 30 Jul 1894.
